About Our Firm

Jim Beusse hired Terry Sanks directly out of law school, and they practiced intellectual property law together for over 22 years. Their time together included starting another IP boutique law firm in 2001, with five other attorneys. For most of the prior firm’s history, the firm was managed by either Terry (9 years) or Jim (1 year). Primarily under their leadership, their firm (formerly Beusse Wolter Sanks & Maire, PLLC) grew from 7 to 19 attorneys. Also, under Terry’s leadership their former firm not only became one of the most recognized IP boutique law firms in Florida, but also one of the most racially and gender diverse intellectual property boutique law firms in the country.

Desiring to maintain their shared principles and vision that directly contributed to the success of their prior firm while under their leadership, in 2020, Terry and Jim formed Beusse Sanks, a full-service intellectual property boutique law firm. Today, to meet client needs, the firm continues to expand with the addition of attorneys, patent agents, and other professionals as Beusse Sanks is rapidly becoming recognized as a go-to law firm for all IP needs.
